Arunachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (APSPCB) has been constituted under provisions of the Central Rules - Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh on 6th July 1993 in order to regulate the New Rules in the State. Due to increasing concerns for environmental issues and realization about the need for protecting the environment from various polluting ingredients, several acts have been enacted and brought under the purview of Environment Protection Act, 1986. The SPCBs/PCCs, all over the country have been entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring & ensuring the implementation of these acts by various agencies.
